Overview

GeckoGrid is designed so the working data for your desktop projects remains on your computer. The website, contact form, checkout, license validation, maps, and scans still involve limited third-party services as described below.

Website analytics

This website uses a self-hosted Umami analytics installation to understand aggregate page usage and referral traffic. Umami is configured without advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. It may process technical information such as page URLs, referrers, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate country.

Contact messages

When you submit the contact form, the information you provide—including your name, email address, company, topic, and message—is delivered through Formspark so the request can be answered. Do not include sensitive personal or payment information in your message.

Purchases and licensing

Polar acts as merchant of record for GeckoGrid purchases and handles checkout, payment, receipts, and related transaction information under its own terms and privacy policy. GeckoGrid communicates with Polar to validate and activate license keys. A license may be activated on up to three machines.

Desktop project data

Projects, business locations, coordinates, keywords, scan results, history, settings, and application logs are stored locally in GeckoGrid's application data on your computer. You are responsible for access to and backups of that device and its local data.

Services used by the desktop app

• Google Maps is queried when GeckoGrid performs local searches through Chrome. Requests originate from your computer and internet connection.
• OpenStreetMap Nominatim may be used to convert an address into map coordinates.
• Protomaps and OpenStreetMap-derived data may be used to display map tiles and geographic context.
• Polar is used for license validation and activation management.

Retention and your choices

Local desktop data remains until you remove it or uninstall and clear the application's data. Contact and transaction records may be retained as needed to answer requests, administer purchases, prevent abuse, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Children

GeckoGrid is a business software product and is not directed to children.

Changes

This policy may be updated as GeckoGrid or its service providers change. Material revisions will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
